“This campaign is for everyone

It’s got BIG TENT energy. That means we might not always agree — but we’ll always have each other’s backs. We’re building a movement fueled by compassion, resilience, and determination — not cruelty or chaos.

Meet Emily

I’m Emily Berge, and I’m running for Congress because people in Central and Western Wisconsin deserve better.

I’m a mom, mental health counselor, small business owner, and the current City Council President of Eau Claire. I’ve spent the last two decades helping people navigate crisis and uncertainty — and I’ve spent the last several years fighting for my community through some of its toughest moments.

When the pandemic hit, I led locally while state and national leaders stalled. When extremist groups threatened inclusion in our city, I stood up and said, “Everyone belongs here.” When our water was threatened by PFAS and our health care system began to collapse, I didn’t wait — I brought people together to find solutions.

That’s what I do: I show up, I listen, and I get to work.

I’m running for Congress to bring that same steady, community-focused leadership to Washington. I believe in building bridges — between people, communities, and even political divides — and I believe that our government should be responsive, compassionate, and accountable.

This campaign is built on BIG TENT energy. Whether you’re a consistent voter or never voted at all — you’re welcome here. No matter where you’re from or how much is in your bank account, I will stand up for you.

Together, we’ll build a future that works for everyone — with access to affordable housing, health care that includes mental health, clean water, and a democracy free from corporate control.

We deserve better — and I’m ready to fight for it.

Endorsements

“Emily Berge is my idea of a leader who never wavers from her values. Emily has qualities I admire. She cares for the most vulnerable around us while having real governing experience and an understanding of how policy decisions affect all of us. Most of all, Emily Berge has a skill that most of us have to work extremely hard at and that is listening. Really listening to understand where people she represents are coming from. Experience, maturity, progressive values and the power of listening make her the person I want representing me in Congress. That is why I wholeheartedly endorse her candidacy for the 3RD Congressional District seat.”

— Jeff Smith, WI State Senator, District 31

“Emily Berge is already out advocating for the people of Wisconsin, and she hasn’t yet been elected to Congress. Her leadership goes beyond just her role as City Council President in Eau Claire. As President of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, she’s been a tireless advocate for Wisconsin communities, taking our concerns directly to Madison and Washington. She understands the real-world impact of policy, and she’s earned the respect of leaders across the aisle and around the state because she delivers results. That’s why I’m proud to support her for Congress.”

— Nancy Coffey, Eau Claire County Board Chair

“Emily Berge has demonstrated strong leadership as President of the Eau Claire City Council and as a statewide leader among Wisconsin municipalities. She’s the voice we need in Congress.”

— Dana Wachs, Attorney and Former State Assemblyman

“Emily shows up, especially when it’s hard. When some tried to push hateful, divisive rhetoric that suggested not everyone belonged in Eau Claire, Emily Berge stood firm. Emily Berge stands for a Wisconsin where every child has what they need to learn, grow and thrive. I trust her to represent our district in Congress with the same strength she’s shown here at home.”

—Tim Nordin, Eau Claire Area School District Board President
